Concert Season

The Hornell Area Wind Ensemble was formed in 1986 to provide an outlet for adult musicians to express their
musical talent and also to provide live concert band music to the surrounding community.

The group currently consists of nearly sixty musicians ranging in age from late teens to retirees.  Although some members are
current or former music educators, most others are from fields such as health care, education, aviation, banking,
and civil service.

They represent a well-rounded community group.  The group is proud to say that the current season of  2025 – 2026 is their 40th season.

Our musicians, comprised of dedicated adults from across the Hornell region and surrounding communities, represent a wide range of professions — from music educators to healthcare professionals, business owners to retirees. United by a shared passion for instrumental music, they volunteer their time and talent to enrich the cultural life of the

greater Hornell area and beyond.

The Hornell Area Wind Ensemble is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to presenting high-quality wind band performances for the community. Each season, the ensemble offers a series of free public concerts, made possible entirely through the generous, tax-deductible support of patrons, sponsors, and community partners. These contributions sustain the ensemble’s mission to provide exceptional musical experiences that inspire, educate, and entertain audiences of all ages.
